Ford offered the Sierra Cosworth in only three colours, Diamond White, Moonstone Blue and Black.
However, one Rosso Red example was made at the factory in Belgium for Ford UK.
That car, modelled here, was registered on the 11th November 1986 and initially used for press and publicity before being loaned on a long-term basis to the Duke of Bedford who is alleged to have requested a red example and triggered its build.
It was sold at a Ford-dealer ‘closed auction’ to well-known racing driver Vince Woodman on the 13th December 1988 with 31,140 miles on the clock.
He then used the car regularly, doubling its mileage, before retiring it to his collection of fast Fords. Specifications:
