The Coke bottle shaped US influenced MkIII Cortina of 1970 had a great deal to live up to as both the MkI and MkII variants had sold over a million units.
Unusually it was a completely new car and was launched with a new range of engines, the SOHC ‘Pinto’ family.
The glamorous twin headlight GXL modelled here was the top of the range and came equipped with Rostyle wheels and a vinyl roof.
